MOVING TO NYC!

Unlike most of my peers, I started my Senior Internship as a Junior, and spent a year with the company rather than one semester! Because I started early, I also finished early— the end of February marked the end of my time as an intern for Brave Young Voices: The Westerville Youth Theatre Project.

In Otterbein’s Theatre & Dance Department, it’s typical for senior BFA students to move off campus to the city their internship takes place at the start of the second semester. Whether it be New York, Chicago, or L.A.

Since I didn’t have to move for internship responsibilities I moved home to Cincinnati, OH (WHO DEY!), and spent time with friends and family. I also found an apartment and started going through the application process! After being approved at the end of February, I found a flight that would take off just a few days later… meaning I had 2 days to pack up my life, including my cat Marley!

While it was stressful, it was totally worth it. Living in Manhattan has felt surreal, especially since I’ve dreamt about this since I was young! I’m so lucky to be turning my dreams and goals into my reality!
